Summary
Role overview
Care Support worker to support a young woman in Blackpool
Part-time and full-time roles available for Waking Nights and Day Time hours at Weekends
Salary from £11.00 – £12.00 per hour
About Me:
I was born in Blackpool and have lived here all of my life apart from 18mths that I spent travelling in Australia and Asia. I went
to 2 local schools and have a group of good friends who I am in contact with; I prefer to spend time with either small groups or
1:1 as I find busy places and large groups or crowds difficult so can withdraw and take myself off to a quiet corner. I am a
people person in my own way and like to spend time with family and friends. I have a part time job at co-op but this is limited to
8 hours per week due to my condition. I love animals especially dogs and I also love children and have friends and family with
young children whom I enjoy spending time with.
The Support Required:
I need support around my flat and when I want to go out into the community – social visits, trips out, appointments etc. I have
unstable epilepsy and need reassurance, and to feel confident in the person supporting me during and after a seizure. I like to
be as independent as I can and make my own decisions and have support to enable me to do this.
About the Pay:
£11.00 – £12.00 per hour
Bank Holidays at time and a half
Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays at double time
About the Training: Full client specific training will be given, including ongoing professional development and support. You will
be paid for attendance at training
About You:
You will need to be reliable and trustworthy, a good communicator and show dignity and respect towards others, and be able to
empower, encourage and respect my right to make my own decisions about how I want to be cared for. Knowing when it’s appropriate
to step in and help, and maintaining a balance between caring and supporting are important qualities.
