Theatre Practitioner |Salary DOE | Fylde Coast – Blackpool | Full Time-37.5hrs

Spire Fylde Coast Hospital is based in the seaside town of Blackpool. We have 3 operating theatres undertaking a wide range of procedures in Orthopaedics, ENT, Spines, Ophthalmic, Urology, Vascular, Gynaecology, Endoscopy, Plastics and General Surgery. Our operating theatres are now looking for friendly theatre practitioners to join their scrub team.

Whether you are an experienced scrub practitioner, newly graduating or looking for a career change, this could be the place for you. We are looking for full time staff willing to learn all of our scrub specialties. To facilitate this, you will be fully supported to learn with an extended supernumerary period.

Most important is that our Theatre staff /ODPs are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures, or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision. Consultants come to work with us from all across the UK and you will work closely with them and be exposed to the latest innovative, evidence-based clinical techniques. We are keen to promote from within the Spire network, so if you are looking for a long-term career with advancement opportunities you will find them at Spire.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Supporting the assessment of patients health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload

Assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patients needs

Actively promoting best practice as well as contributing towards quality improvements

Collecting, collating alongside organising data, interpreting all of the information, making a justifiable assessment and making this available to relevant others

Who we are looking for:

Operating Department Practitioner or Theatre Nurse with valid registration

Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes although would consider newly qualified Nurse or ODP

Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration/practitioner qualification and additional training
